We are so appreciative for to everyone who joined us in our Participatory Action Research Info Webinar on Monday. If you missed our Info Webinar, please click here to watch the edited version of the recording. Here’s a beautiful quote from Dr. Felix Bivens:
“Trying to define PAR which is again very vast but just sort of saying there are lots of different ways of describing this word but there are some common um values some common approaches that link lots of different descriptions of PAR together and once you're kind of able to see that as the center then there are lots of side branches that you can go off and learn from and have a more specific way of coming to approach a particular project or stakeholder group….
(This is a chance to take) a big step back to think about how we know what we know, and where the different schools of thought around where knowledge comes from and how knowledge is created or how it is discovered.
another piece that's really critical for me in my practice and understanding of PAR is understanding power, and which connects really deeply to knowledge. It's hard for me to think about knowledge construction without also taking some time to think about different ways of understanding power: how power operates both in a systemic way and in an interpersonal way and within the processes of PAR. This kind of work enhances your capacity to facilitate and research within power dynamics.” -Felix Bivens

Re-imagining Education Conference 4.0
October 24 – 27, 2024!
What does the future of education look like? What would happen if we start to co-create education with the Earth? How can we cooperate autonomously to re-imagine education? How can we listen to our territories to inform our actions, decisions, and lives? How can we nurture our soils to regenerate all the damage the education system has brought to our minds, bodies, and spirits?
As the cracks in the systems widen, we must come together to reimagine what we learn, how we learn it, how to compost it, and who we regard as our teachers. Join us for an interactive, multi-day dialogue during the 4th annual Reimagining Education Conference. Your voice is needed.
