Listening to that inner landscape
Those of you in the northern hemisphere are well aware that even as the light might be growing again, the experience is one of being in the cold and the dark.
People often use this time to go inward.
We are really looking forward to doing more engagement with Circular Time - maybe you will join one of the sessions that our friends at Sequoia Samanvaya are offering?
And we are excited to share some offerings and resources around the "Inner landscape".
Regeneration often focuses on the outer landscape: forests and farms and rivers and oceans.
That of course is essential.
And we at Rē know the importance of engaging with the inner landscape.
From our very beginning, we recognized that as we begin to work on shifting the outer landscape, especially around shifting structures and systems, we have to engage with our individual and collective inner landscape.
Collective healing and internal, individual healing are deeply connected. We cannot do one without the other.
We can understand this from a systems perspective - the principle of fractals - as well as from a spiritual and metaphysical perspective.
That's part of why we offer regular retreats, and encourage spaces for internal reflection and healing.
So we are delighted to share with you some of the folks in our wider network who are also engaged in that space. Of course, given that this is part of the work of religions from around the world, there is a lot that can be shared! And we would love to hear your favorite resources!
These are just a few.
Dr Amanda Kemp has two recent podcasts: How to take a winter rest before the holidays (valid after the holidays too!) and "Earth's Winter Energy and Deer Mother"
Maya Galimidi’s Nature Lense Course - this a course on the inner landscape that is available through Rē
Waking Up to the Dark: Ancient Wisdom for a Sleepless Age by Clark Strand - this small book speaks beautifully to the dark
The ReMembering and ReEnchanting podcast with Lisa deLay that covers, amongst other things, her recent book, the Wild Land Within: Cultivating Wholeness through Spiritual Practice - a version of contemporary Christian Mysticism
The Dark Ocean: Dark Mountain has released a new series on the Ocean - while all of these pieces are about the outer outerlandscape, they are very much also about the human heart, and many of them are written like poetry, inviting us to go into our relationship with the ocean - and even towards our inner oceans, whatever that might look like.
The Inner Landscape: A book by John O’Donahue on Contradiction as Invitation and the Hidden blessings of pain and suffering.
And connected- the On Being podcast with O'Donahue and Krista Tippet, The Inner Landscape of Beauty
Circular Time
Time is not linear. Time curves.
