MEET OUR GUIDES
THANA NUMAN
Thana is a longtime collaborative of the Regenerative School. We are so excited to welcome her once again into our circle as our yogic and Ayurvedic specialist. Thana is an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor and is a Therapeutic Yoga Instructor. After taking her first class in Yogic Philosophy in 2016, she was inspired to pursue her 300HR Yoga Therapy training based on the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya and Mr. TKV Desikachar. The teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda deeply resonated with her not only on a spiritual level, but helped her heal from chronic health challenges as well. In her current studies, Thana is pursing a three-year 1,000 hour yoga therapy certification in this lineage through Yoga Well Institute, an International Association of Yoga Therapist (IAYT) accredited program. Thana’s classes incorporate a deep awareness, guided breathing, and visualization with mindful movement. She practices yoga in clinical settings, but has created Nourishing Wellness to make the teachings of Ayurveda and Therapeutic Yoga accessible to those who seek personal healing.
SARA JOLENA WALCOTT
We are so grateful to introduce Sara to our community IN PERSON in October. Descendent of some of Founding Fathers of the United States of America, Sara Jolena Wolcott, M.Div, is now building people’s capacity to collectively reMember our ecological familial, national and global origin stories to enable more harmonious futures. An ecotheologian and unconventional minister, she is the founder of Sequoia Samanvaya, a healer, and a ceremonialist. She is known for her laughter and the (sometimes wild) power of her presence.
Born and raised on the historical Ohlone lands in the California Bay Area into a Quaker family, her quest to understand how we might navigate through the current social and ecological crises took her on a global odyssey. Her wide and wild range of experience, all of which brings depth to her ministry, includes: co-leading the 33-country multi-disciplinary ReImagining Development Program at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), consulting for the World Bank, living as a traveling singer in India, serving as a community minister at Judson Memorial Church in New York City, working as a prison chaplain on Rikers Island Correctional Facility in NYC and working as a Fellow in Spirituality and Climate Change at the Institute of the Advancement of Science and Society in Germany. She also has nearly 20 years of experience as a healer and ceremonialist.
Her formal education includes a CMT from the McKinnon Institute of Massage Therapy in Oakland, CA; a BA from Haverford College in Anthropology, an MA in international development from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, UK; and a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) at Union Theological Seminary. Her international speaking engagements have brought her to 10 countries and she has spoken in over 16 U.S. states. She currently lives on the historical homeland of the Mohigan/Mahican people in the Hudson Valley. She enjoys painting dragons, sitting around fires, and moonlit walks.
KRISTINE MARIE HILL
Member of the Beaver Clan, Tuscarora Nation, Haudenosaunee Confederacy, now living on the Eastern Door of the Confederacy (the Hudson Valley, NY).
Proud mother of four, grandmother, and a queer partner.
Circle keeper, Circle Weaver, and a Story Crafter
Krissy! Welcome! We are elated to have you join us in Alnoba. Responding to invitations, she is bringing indigenous peacemaking to restorative practices. In the process, she is holding open big space, shaping institutions, and creating the relationships necessary for the emergence of strong alliances between cultures and peoples for social structures that can enable harmonious futures. Alongside colleagues at the Ahimsa Collective and other restorative justice networks, she works to prevent and address harms occurring within significant institutions of higher education, international spiritual communities, legal networks and other institutions. A dedicated fire-keeper, she is keen on reMembering the plant ceremonies and practices of her people, known as People of the Hemp.
